1958: Gibson patented its Flying V electric guitar.
1975: Led Zeppelin fans rioted while waiting for tickets to go on sale at Boston Garden. About $30,000 was done in damage and the show was subsequently cancelled.
1976: Peter Frampton released his double live album, ‘Frampton Comes Alive’.
1977: EMI terminated its contract with the Sex Pistols, only 3 months after signing it.
1993: Bill Wyman announced that he had officially left The Rolling Stones.
2009: Death of guitarist / songwriter, Ron Asheton of The Stooges [aged 60].
2018: Death of sound engineer / producer /musician, Jimmy Robinson [aged 67]. Jimmy worked with a huge array of artists, including Jimi Hendrix (including recording the ‘Band Of Gypsys’ album), Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack, Blood Sweat & Tears, Miles Davis, Van Morrison, Tower of Power, Detective & many more.
2020: Death of drummer, Martin Griffin of Hawkwind & Hawklords [aged 69].
2022: Death of singer, Calvin Simon of Parliament / Funkadelic [aged 79].
2022: Death of guitarist, Barry Benedetta [aged 62]. Over the years, Barry worked with rock bands Cinderella, Waysted and singer, Shimmer Johnson.
