Rare New Zealand Jazz Album From 1960s. Very Nice Vinyl & Flipback Cover ~ Still In Great Condition!
Ernie Rouse Trad Band was one of the most successful bands from Hawke’s Bay, NZ. They recorded, starred on television, were regulars on radio, made the hit charts, supported acts like The Seekers, delighted thousands of people through the years, and influenced many an aspiring young musician. The band’s prowess under Mr. Rouse was such that reviews of their opening for The Seekers in front of 15,000 people in 1968 spoke of how they “nearly stole the show”. At their musical peak, the Trad Band toured the country extensively and played on cruise ships ~ they even serenaded jazzman Kenny Ball as he arrived at Hawke’s Bay Airport for a concert in Napier (Ball was delighted). Ernie Rouse a.k.a. Mr. Jazz or Mr. Music was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal in 2008.
