Absolutely brilliant! Some of Bowie’s most well crafted and melodic songs. If there is one album by Bowie that you can play every day and still not tire of, ‘Hunky Dory’ is it! For many it is the pinnacle of Bowie’s career. A marked contrast to the heavy rock of the previous LP ‘The Man Who Sold The World’, ‘Hunky Dory’ is driven by acoustic guitars and lush, sweeping string sections. Rick Wakeman (who would soon join YES) contributes greatly with some beautiful piano accompaniment throughout. It also contains some of Bowie’s most well crafted and melodic songs. The album is absolutely brilliant start to finish, with many highlights, including “Changes”, “Life on Mars” and the irresistible VU salute, “Queen Bitch”. 11 out of 10!
