1966: The Beatles began sessions for the ‘Revolver’ album at Abbey Road studios, with the recording of “Tomorrow Never Knows”.
1968: Pink Floyd announced that founder Syd Barrett had officially left the group.
1968: The Beatles Apple Corps Ltd. record company, management & publishing firm, opened offices in London.
1971: The Rolling Stones launched their own label, ‘Rolling Stones Records’, with Atlantic Records.
1974: Over 200,000 fans attended the California Jam Festival in Ontario, which featured Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Eagles & others.

1982: Cozy Powell quit the Michael Schenker Group.
1998: Death of singer, Wendy O’Williams of Plasmatics [aged 48].
1998: Death of singer, Tammy Wynette [aged 55].
2016: Death of singer / songwriter / guitarist, Merle Haggard [aged 79].
2016: Death of drummer, Dennis Davis [aged 64]. He played on key albums by David Bowie & Stevie Wonder.
2023: Death of guitarist, Guy Bailey, of The Quireboys.

Hard to believe, but it was 58 years ago that The Beatles were recording the first takes of this timeless psychedelic masterpiece.
