2023: Death of keyboardist / singer / songwriter, Gary Wright [aged 80]. A founding member of Spooky Tooth, he played on many sessions including most of George Harrison’s albums. In 1975, Wright achieved solo global success with his ‘Dream Weaver’ album.
One of New Zealand’s greatest singer / songwriters, Graham Brazier passed away nine years ago today. A superb front man for Hello Sailor and The Legionnaires, as well as a solo artist ~ Rest in Peace Graham. Fortunately, we have the excellent Hello Sailor LPs to remember him by!
Kim Thayil, born today in 1960 ~ do the maths. Soundgarden, what a wicked band they were, and Kim’s guitar playing was a huge part of their sound! Check out Kim’s playing on this song he wrote with his terribly missed friend, Chris Cornell ~ it’s entitled “My Wave”…
