BIRTHDAYS
1940: Tom Jones
1945: Napolean Murphy Brock (Frank Zappa Band)
1946: Phil Wainman (Producer for Sweet, Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Boomtown Rats, Mud, etc.)
1958: Prince Rogers Nelson (a.k.a. Prince, Symbol, T.A.F.K.A.P.)
1967: Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction)

EVENTS
1969: Supergroup Blind Faith, featuring Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker & Steve Winwood made their live debut at Hyde Park, London.

1969: Keith Richards and Anita Pallenburg were involved in a car crash. Richards escaped serious injury, but Pallenburg suffered a broken collarbone and the car was a write-off.
1977: Led Zeppelin played the first of six sold out nights at Madison Square Garden, in New York City.
2012: Death of guitarist / songwriter, Bob Welch, formerly of Fleetwood Mac [aged 66].

Sadly, he never made his 66th Birthday today ~ but let’s celebrate the musical genius of Prince! This footage from 2007 displays not only his incredible talent as a performer and singer / songwriter, but his fantastic guitar playing! R.I.P.
