2005: Eric Clapton joined former Cream members drummer Ginger Baker & bass player Jack Bruce for the first of four nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall, 36 years after they had split up.
2006: Keith Richards was released from Auckland’s Ascot Hospital after the 62 year-old guitarist suffered “mild concussion” when he fell out of a coconut tree, while on holiday in Fiji.
2017: Death of Bruce Hampton a.k.a. Col. Hampton B. Coles of Hampton Grease Band [aged 70]. He collapsed and died on stage, whilst playing at a concert to celebrate his 70th birthday! The other musicians thought he was play acting, as a joke.
2021: Death of singer, Phil Naro of Talas [aged 63].
Cream’s reunion shows in 2005 were legendary performances from three brilliant musicians, who were ten times greater when together as this trio. R.I.P Jack & Ginger, we miss ya!
