1974: Bad Company went to No.1 on the US album chart with their self-titled debut album. 2024: Death of songwriter / singer / actor, Kris Kristofferson [aged 88]. Best know for his songs “Me and Bobbie McGee” & “Help Me Make It Through The Night”, Kris was a member of the country supergroup The Highwaymen, as well as having a successful solo career. He appeared in many movies, receiving a Golden Globe award for his role in ‘A Star is Born’.
Queen of the Blues: Koko Taylor could belt out a song as if her life depended on it. I was fortunate enough to catch her live in concert in 1988. Born on this day in 1935, she passed away in 2009, aged 80. Listen to that voice!
