Noel, Noel! Happy Birthday to Noel Redding of The Jimi Hendrix Experience (pictured left, in photo), who would have been 78 today! Born on Christmas Day, he was actually a guitar player, but Hendrix chose Noel to play bass in his new band, that he formed in 1966. A terrific time-keeper, he played alongside dexterous drummer, Mitch Mitchell, and Jimi for three legendary years (he quit The Experience in September, 1969). Sadly, Noel died at the early age of 57, on 11 May, 2003. Never to be forgotten…
