wow that really brings back memories. I was at that concert at the auck townhall to see albert Collins. trying to work out what year it was ? will never forget him walking all the way up the centre isle with a long guitar lead to entertain the people in the back rows.
Yeah, Dave! Experiences like that you never forget…. must have been the longest guitar lead ever, hah! Playing to every single person in the audience and absolutely cookin’ on guitar! I just checked my ticket and it was 6th of October…. I’m pretty sure it was 1987, does that sound right to you? I know I saw Roy Buchanan at the same venue in 1988, which was also outstanding. Every blues gig that was at the Town Hall around that time, I made sure I was there. We’re not gonna see old blues musicians like that any more, sadly. Buddy Guy is the last man standing.
