1973: Keith Moon collapsed on stage at a Who concert in San Francisco. A drummer from the audience volunteered to replace him for the final three songs.
2005: Death of singer / songwriter / guitarist, Chris Whitley [aged 45].
2015: The Ruts played a concert at Bodega, Wellington ~ I was there!
2024: Death of guitarist / singer, Mike Pinera [aged 76]. Mike formed his band Blues Image in the late 60s, later joining Iron Butterfly and playing in Alice Cooper’s band.

Happy Birthday to Joe Walsh ~ is he really 77???!!! I wonder how many of those years he can actually remember! With James Gang, Eagles or solo, Joe is always a blast on the guitar, sings in his own unique way and is such a funny guy! My fave ice blocks as a kid were always Crazy Joe Cola!
