The one and only Jack Bruce of Cream was born on this day, 76 years ago! Primarily a bassist / singer / composer, Jack was also very skilled at playing piano, guitar, harmonica and cello. I got to speak to Jack in 1993, when he formed BBM with Gary Moore & Ginger Baker ~ best interview I ever did! He was constantly joking and had some amazing tales. Here’s to a real character and huge talent!!
I had always wondered what the letters “NSU” stand for, as the title of the song by Cream on their debut LP. This was Jack’s reply… “It stands for Non-Specific Urethritis, which is inflammation from sexually transmitted diseases. I won’t tell you which member of the band had it at the time… but he plays guitar!!” 😀
Also, Happy Birthday to singer, Ian Astbury of The Cult!
