Hard To Find Actual 1979 Japanese First Pressing Of The Classic Supertramp LP ~ Vinyl Still In Very Nice Condition! Includes 4-Page Booklet With Lyrics In English, Plus Insert With Lyrics In Japanese. Record Has Picture Labels. Sound Quality Is Superb!
Condition – Vinyl: EXCELLENT! Couple of very light surface marks, which do not affect play.
Condition – Cover: VERY GOOD! Foxing, due to age (over 46 years!) Small tear on top edge.
Japanese vinyl pressings are highly sought after by audiophiles and collectors, due to their premium sound quality and beautifully presented packaging. The sonic quality of Japanese records is regarded as the best in the world. No wonder all the original Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab records were pressed in Japan! The covers are printed on better quality heavy stock paper too. Nice condition original Japanese pressings are becoming scarcer ~ and therefore more collectable and valuable every year.

In their heyday, Supertramp were one of the most popular bands on the planet, boasting a fine collective of songwriter / musicians. The core lineup of Roger Hodgson (Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, Vocals), Rick Davies (Keyboards, Harmonica, Vocals) & John Helliwell (Clarinet, Saxophone, Vocals) had a string of smash albums from the mid '70s through to the early '80s. In 1979 Supertramp hit their peak with the phenomenal 'Breakfast in America'. It went through the roof sales-wise, going on to sell over 18 million copies. With such irresistible songs as "The Logical Song", "Take the Long Way Home" & "Goodbye Stranger", they had truly hit the jackpot. 'Breakfast in America' is chock full with perfectly constructed pop songs, delivered with panache & ideal for radio play. The multi-layered vocal harmonies & fabulous production are icing on the 'Breakfast' cake. These emotive little gems stuck in people's minds, so understandably, they wanted the whole album. It was hardly surprising that 'Breakfast in America' stayed at the number one spot in America for four weeks & continues to sell steadily into the 21st century.
