Brand New ~ Sealed! Quality Vinyl Pressed At Stebbings, NZ. Rare Vintage Recordings From Legendary New Zealand Singer / Songwriter, Corben Simpson!
Corben Simpson’s ‘3’ is compiled from tracks recorded before and during the infamous ‘Get Up With The Sun’ sessions during 1973, where Corben dragged his sofa into the studio. The sessions producer Alan Galbraith recalled, “at times I would be sitting in the control room in awe of his extraordinary talent but mostly I just wanted to hit him”. The album captures all aspects of Corben’s unique talent as he croons through his version of Stevie Wonder’s “Love Every Little Thing About You”, before completely dismantling Carole King’s “Goin’ Back” and rebuilding it in his own inimitable style. His manic compositions “Germs” and “Where Is Love” defy description while his demo version with Blerta of “Dance All Around the World” and recorded during the same period is a fascinating peek into a Kiwi classic in it’s embryonic stage. (Corben was a founding memeber of Blerta).
